Welcome to the Region 4 Chaplain's Corner!

4-22-09  Greetings Fellow Fishermen,

Today like many others I’m setting at home watching the T.V. I’m like so many other men and women across the state I’m laid off of work this week. The economy has taken a toll on many of us and I’m not sure it will get any better very soon.  Even though things are bad I began to meditate on God’s grace and goodness. He has sustained me through the good times and now through the bad. As I gave thought to our lives and the lives of many of you; God began to deal with me that there are far more needs than my own.

Some of you may have been experiencing loss greater than jobs. I don’t really know the number of members we have in region four, but I suspect it’s at least in the 100’s.

The reality of the numbers is even greater when we include the families of our members.  No doubt many have lost family members to sickness and accident the past couple of years while I have been chaplain. I send my deepest sympathy and apology for not being there for you. Ongoing I promise to do all that I can in support of your needs.

Until now we have not had a system in place that would alert us of the needs of our TBF members. I feel the need strongly to increase the communication between you and I.
As you probably know I’m a former Pastor and now an Evangelist. I have and will continue to make new contacts as to agencies that can help as far as Financial needs, Physical, Emotional, even substance abuse help. although being a Chaplain means that I will always pray with and for you.

At times life is overwhelming as the least! The Bible says that God is our rest and refuge. He will never leave of forsake us.

Matthew 11:29:3029Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

God can be your strength today! We must learn to lean on Him. If I can be of any help to you or your family please call or e-mail me!

I’m asking that the Presidents from each club be my information source. Please contact me if you know of a need in the region. Together we can lighten the load of many of our friends!

 Looking Up!

4-22-09 Letter from Chaplain Jimmy Rorrer to the Club Presidents

Attention Presidents,

Please keep your ears open for anyone in your club that may have a serious illness or possibly a death in their families. Even a family member with a serious illness.

I feel it necessary to know about issues in our region concerning our members. My intention is to visit those in the hospital as well as show our respects for those with a loss. Also if you know of any member that has a special need beyond sickness; possibly financial or a spiritual need, please contact me so we can be a help to those in need. There are so many areas that people need help in that we cannot mention them all. Although we should be there for one another when the need arises!

This will go a long way with our membership as well as attract new members to the TBF.

God taught me a long time ago that the ones receiving blessings are not the ones seeking a blessing but the ones seeking to be a blessing!

Please contact me with this info and watch God as he uses us to be a blessing!

Also ask your clubs if anyone would be interested in having a devotional time either prior to tourneys or after. I would be more than willing to have a short devotion time if we could get even a few to attend. Please have them contact me ASAP.

Looking Up!

Chaplain Jimmy Rorrer
